I looove rice cakes, but I usually eat a salty version with veggies. Which reminds me that I still have some in the fridge...tomorrow´s dinner is then assured !

There are three parts that are new to me. 1. salty 떡, 2. 떡 with veggies, 3. 떡 for dinner. I love hearing about traditionally Korean things being consumed in new versions.

Koren rice cakes are for me like Chinese rice cakes :). I had Chinese 年糕 niangao for my very first Chinese meal in Fuzhou back in 1996 and I have a special predilection for any type of rice cakes.
